The Lowdown…

There are 4 big blocks that will prevent you from having a profitable 20 hour business.

One of these is having a disconnected marketing strategy, cobbled together with no flow or proven results.

If someone lands on your website and they can’t see what happens next, you’re leaving money on the table.

If you’re not inviting them to take the next step, you’re leaving money on the table.

If you don’t have a way to build a relationship with them, you’re leaving money on the table.

So what do I mean by the next step?

Well, it’s great to have lots of traffic to your site but what happens if you have no way of capturing that attention?

If you don’t have a compelling lead magnet (free gift) that someone can get in exchange for their email, you’re actually losing that person and once they leave your site, they’ll forget about you.

Harsh I know but it’s the truth!

When someone visits your site, you want them to sign up for your lead magnet, you want them to check out your blog/ videos/ about me page and you want them to want to know more!

But what I often see happening is this:

You have a lead magnet but you don’t have a nurture sequence OR you fail to make an offer OR you fail to add in strong calls to action.

It’s OK – we’ve all done this!

But what that means is you haven’t capitalised on the moment when they really want to know more about you!

So how to remedy this?

This is my take on what you need in order to have a joined up marketing strategy:

  1. Look at your core offer.
  2. Reverse engineer from this point.

To maximise your impact and your sales, your free and paid offers need to be connected (sounds so obvious but it can take time to nail it!)

Your compelling lead magnet is linked to your core offer.

Your core offer is the big promise so your lead magnet needs to be part of the bigger picture.

The job of the lead magnet is to solve one piece of the puzzle for them.

They sign up, solve that piece – now you nurture this relationship.

So they can get to know, like and trust you.

You provide value and you make offers – all based on your core offer.

Money is only exchanged when there is trust.

This can take time to build – for some people, it can take a long time, others not so much.

But with a strong nurture sequence, you’re attempting to shorten that time-frame.

Here’s an exercise you can do right now:

Take a blank piece of paper and map out the CURRENT ‘free to paid’ journey someone has with you.

Is it joined up? Is it connected to the core offer? Does it make sense? Do you tell people what to do in it?

If your answers are YES – brilliant!

If not, map out what you WANT to see.

Where is the gap? How big is the gap? Do you know how to close the gap?
