Hello, this is Yasmin from Tiny Time Big Results. And today’s blog is slightly different to ones I normally share, because I have a message for you.
This has been inspired from my conversations with people. All my videos are always inspired by conversation that I have with my clients and my community, or my mentor, and this is a really valuable message for you today.
It’s easy to give ourselves too much to do.
It’s easy to give ourselves a huge to do list, and to think, oh I’ve got to get all this stuff done. And it’s very easy to focus on the things, that stop you from actually going out, and meeting people online or offline, and talking about what it is that you do in your business, and to actually then ask for the business.
It’s very easy to hide behind the laptop, and to work on your website, or do tweaking and creating graphics.
It’s so easy to do that because it’s safe.
But it stops you from actually going out, and talking to people.
If you have felt that sense of paralysis around your marketing message, and you’re thinking, “if I could just get this clear, if I could just get this nailed, then everything will fall into place”.
Here’s the thing…
None of that happens until you take action. None of that happens until you go out and create, the clarity that you are here to create. Clarity doesn’t come in, and tap you on the shoulder, and say, “Hey, I’m your marketing message, how are you?”
No matter how imperfect your message might be, or your website might be, or your graphics might be, it’s okay!
What I want you to focus on, is the thing that brings the money in.
I remember having a conversation with a few people about this, especially when it comes to things like logos. I often get asked, do you have a logo? I do have one, I created it a long time ago…It’s not great by any stretch of the imagination. But…does that logo bring me business? Not particularly, it’s just something that I created!
What does bring me business is when I do my videos and blogs, when I go to networking, when I’m building connections and doing podcast interviews.
These things bring business to me, logos do not!
So please stop messing with logos, or tweaking your website and creating more graphics!
Keep it simple. Focus on what brings money in.
And if you’re not sure how to do that, look back at the last 90 days of your business and identify what specific actions you have taken, that have brought income into your business.
Do more of those.
Honestly, it doesn’t get any more difficult or complicated than that. Do more of those and I promise you, your business will grow, and then you can get someone to do the logo.
Listen, I love a pretty logo as much as anybody. I love pretty graphics, I love having a website that looks amazing. But when you are not focusing on the money making activities, then your business will stop. And remember, you can outsource some of those things.
No matter how big you get, you always want to be thinking about where the income is coming from, making sure that you have a system and that your are focused on it. The other stuff will take care of itself.
Stop hiding, stop staying where it’s safe and go out and talk to people.
Let them know what it is you do, how you can help them, and build that gorgeous business.
This is how you have a profitable 20 hour a week business.
And I’m all about attracting high quality clients consistently, because that is the lifeblood of your business.
And when you’ve got money flowing in every single month, it’s a gorgeous feeling.
You’re being well paid for what you do, you are serving your client. And it gives you the space and the creativity, to be able to think bigger, and to expand your sense of what’s possible as well.
You can’t do that if the money’s not coming in, because you’re too busy creating a logo!
